Oftentimes, the question I hear is “Where do I start?” This is where a professional Event and Wedding Planner makes all the difference. What does a Wedding Planner do?
What I do as your Wedding Planner depends on how hands-on you want to be, but no matter what, I provide the tools you need to plan this once in a lifetime event. For some, planning a wedding fills them with joy, others dread. Based on your needs, I can assist with everything from venue and vendor selection, contracts, aesthetics and event design, fashion, budgets, room blocks, ceremony planning, invitation management, seating charts, and more. No detail is too small when it comes to what makes this day special for you and yours, and my job is to make sure every part of your vision is executed to the fullest.
Why do I need a Day-of Wedding Director?
To quote a client, the last thing you want to do on your wedding day is bark orders. During the rehearsal and wedding, a Day-of Event Director executes the couple’s vision, keeps things running smoothly, wrangles the more unruly members of the wedding party, and manages and supports vendors. The couple (not to mention all the people you choose to celebrate with you) should be able to enjoy the day without added stress or responsibilities. You can relax on your day knowing that all those details that you spent your time researching, pinning, and planning will be executed just as you imagined.
What does a Day-of Wedding Director do?
Even the role of a Day-of Wedding Director begins before the wedding day. I will work with you to create a day of timeline for you, your bridal party and your vendors so everyone is on the same page from the number (and length) of toasts to special touches like a custom exit. Additionally, I will support your vendors leading up to the event itself, answering logistical questions and providing resources on details like parking, load-in and out, and meals. Our packages also include a site visit of your venue allowing us to review the floor plan and make sure that the onsite details are all taken care of.
Before the wedding itself is also the rehearsal. No matter if your ceremony is secular or religious, short or long, we will make sure it flows smoothly, everyone knows their cues, and when the time comes, you and your loved ones walk down the aisle feeling confident and prepared.
Now, on the day itself is where we truly shine… We are the first to arrive and last to leave. We make sure that all your personal touches are set up and ready without you worrying about setting up decorations in your formalwear. We make sure that the venue and vendors are meeting their obligations in full, and troubleshoot for any potential hiccups. We come prepared with backup plans and potential pivots for everything from rain to traffic delays. We are your eyes and ears, your advocate, and your cheerleader as you finally say “I Do”!
